SOLUTIONS

At IPECC Project Management, we design solutions specifically to meet each Nation’s unique needs while adhering to funding stream guidelines. Our approach prioritizes cultural values, community goals, and compliance with frameworks set out by the identified funding stream such as CHRT 41.

From planning to construction and asset management, we work closely with Indigenous leaders to create projects that reflect the community’s vision. Our services ensure that every project is culturally aligned, sustainable, and lasting—delivering real benefits to the community while staying aligned with funding requirements.

We also invest in training and mentoring Indigenous community members in project management, building local capacity and ensuring long-term benefits.

ADVISORY GATE

The advisory gate phase involves a collaborative assessment of the project’s feasibility and alignment with both strategic goals and community values. Engagement with Indigenous leadership and elders ensures that cultural priorities and traditional knowledge are integrated from the outset, guiding the project in a direction that aligns with the community’s long-term vision.

INITIATION

During the initiation phase, the project’s objectives, scope, and deliverables are defined with a focus on respecting Indigenous governance structures. Key documentation, including community engagement plans and cultural impact assessments, is developed alongside the project charter. Approvals are secured in consultation with both leadership and community members, ensuring that the project aligns with cultural protocols and collective goals.

CONCEPTUAL / PRELIMINARY DESIGN

This phase involves the creation of high-level designs with close input from Indigenous stakeholders. Traditional land use, cultural site protection, and community preferences are central to evaluating design options. Early feedback is integrated to ensure the designs honor cultural heritage while meeting practical needs, ensuring a foundation for success.

DETAILED DESIGN

In the detailed design phase, comprehensive plans, drawings, and specifications are developed with ongoing consultation. The designs are refined to reflect cultural values, including considerations for sustainable land use, environmental stewardship, and community-driven design preferences. Indigenous knowledge is integrated into every detail to align with the community’s unique identity.

CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT & ADMINISTRATION

This phase emphasizes the importance of hiring local labor, supporting Indigenous employment, and incorporating culturally appropriate practices on-site. Project managers work closely with contractors to ensure that construction activities respect the land, cultural sites, and traditional practices. Transparent communication with the community remains a priority throughout the construction process.

POST CONSTRUCTION SERVICES

After construction, post-construction services include final inspections, ensuring cultural expectations are met, and delivering operational training tailored for the community. This phase also involves ceremonial handover processes and the inclusion of community members in final reviews, reinforcing the project’s alignment with the collective vision.

ASSET MANAGEMENT

The asset management phase focuses on sustainable operations from the detailed design phase into operations. Plans are created for the long-term stewardship of assets, emphasizing community ownership, training, and capacity building. Ongoing engagement ensures the infrastructure continues to serve and reflect the evolving needs of the community.
